poached egg burger with caramelized onions

– 1 pound ground beef chuck – ½ tsp. salt – ½  tsp. pepper – 8 slices smoked Gruyere cheese – 1 serving of caramelized onions – 4 poached eggs – 4 burger buns

Preheat grill or stove to med-high heat. Season ground beef with salt & pepper. Shape the beef into 4 patties.

Grill patties or cook on stove to sear, about 3-5 min. Flip and sear another 3-5 minutes and top with 2 slices Gruyere.

Cook eggs

Let the burgers rest and cook 4 eggs according to how you like them, fried or poached.

Toast burger buns. Place a burger on each bun. Top with a spoonful of caramelized onions and an egg. Serve and enjoy!
