Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Add apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, and honey to a bowl and mix. Once thoroughly combined, set aside.
2 Tablespoons apple cider vinegar, 2 Tablespoons soy sauce, ½ cup honey
  • In a separate bowl, add garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper, and mix until combined.
½ teaspoon garlic powder, ½ teaspoon paprika, ½ teaspoon black pepper, ½ teaspoon salt
  • Sprinkle the seasoning over the pork on all sides. Pat it down with your hands so it sticks to the meat.
    2 pound pork tenderloin
  • Add oil to a large cast-iron skillet and set it over medium-high heat on the stove. Once hot, add pork and sear until golden-brown on all sides, approx. 3-5 minutes per side.
    2 Tablespoons olive oil
  • Add minced garlic to the skillet with the pork. Cook until lightly browned, approx. 2 minutes.
3 cloves garlic very finely chopped
  • Pour reserved sauce over the pork in the skillet. Use a spoon to drizzle the sauce over the pork.
  • Transfer the skillet to the oven and roast for 15 minutes, or until the pork reaches 145°F on a meat thermometer.
  • Remove the skillet from the oven. Transfer the pork to a cutting board and allow it to rest for 10 minutes.
  • Place skillet with the remaining sauce back on the stove over medium heat and simmer to thicken, about 5-10 minutes.
  • Once thickened, remove skillet from the heat. Slice the pork against the grain, then add it back with the sauce in the skillet.
  • Stir the pork to coat it completely in the sauce. Use a spoon to drizzle sauce over the top of the pork.
  • Serve, and enjoy!

Notes

  • If your pork tenderloin is on the larger side, don't try to force it to fit in the skillet. Cut it in half so all parts cook evenly.
  • Before cooking, allow your pork to come to room temperature for 30 minutes. Cover it and leave it on the counter to allow it to reach room temperature.
  • For best results, make sure to sear the pork on all sides - including the tips. A nice even browning will give you the most delicious oven pork tenderloin.
  • Let the meat rest before you slice it! 5-15 minutes works best. Always slice against the grain.
How to Trim Pork Tenderloin
  1. With your pork tenderloin resting on the cutting board, start by cutting the skin away from the meat enough to lift it with your fingers.
  2. While holding the skin with one hand, use your opposite hand to work the knife along the meat to carefully cut away the skin.
  3. After removing the skin, check for any large pieces of fat or sinew to cut away from the meat.
