Instructions

  • Get your grill as hot as it can get. Divide each one pound roll into thirds (⅓ pound burgers). Roll them in your hand and press them into flat patties, about 5 inches in diameter. Make sure the middle is pressed in a little more to prevent the burgers from plumping.
wagyu burger recipe ingredients on a table
  • Right before you put the burgers on the grill, salt them generously and then pepper them on both sides.
    seasoned wagyu burgers
  • Place them evenly on the grill and close the lid. Let them cook for 5 minutes and then flip. As soon as you flip them, add your cheese. Let them cook for another 4-5 minutes.
    wagyu patties on the grill
  • Pull them off and let them rest for about 5 minutes. Place a patty on its own bun, top with 2-3 slices of bacon, your other preferred toppings, and enjoy!

Notes

  • Wagyu burgers are not easy to overcook. Just watch for flare ups on the grill and this recipe will give you the perfect burger.
  • Don’t be afraid to use other spices on your burger. Salt is the most important one. It is pretty hard to over salt a burger, so don’t be too shy with the salt.
  • It is very important that you do not play with the burgers. Just let them cook. The salt helps to add a nice crust to the burger, even though it may look black or charred. It is not burnt, it is just crispy!
