- Cheese slices - use your favorite cheese
- Burger buns - opt for your favorite rolls!
- Salt and pepper
- Optional: tomato slices, lettuce, condiments
How to Grill Burgers
- Get your grill as hot as it can get. Divide each one-pound roll into thirds (⅓ pound burgers). Roll them in your hand and press them into flat patties, about 5 inches in diameter. Make sure the middle is pressed in a little more to prevent the burgers from plumping.
- Right before you put the burgers on the grill, salt them generously and then pepper them on both sides.
- Place them evenly on the grill and close the lid. Let them cook for 5 minutes and then flip. As soon as you flip them, add your cheese. Let them cook for another 4-5 minutes.
- Pull them off and let them rest for about 5 minutes.
- Place a patty on its own bun, top with 2-3 slices of bacon, your other preferred toppings, and enjoy!
Wagyu Burgers Toppings
The best part about a wagyu burger is the natural flavor of the wagyu beef, so you don't want to overload it with too many toppings.
However, like any burger, you can dress up a wagyu beef burger however you like. I like to use my burger sauce and sometimes will add my favorite burger seasoning, too!
Wagyu Ground Beef Recipe Tips
- Wagyu burgers are not easy to overcook. Just watch for flare-ups on the grill and this recipe will give you the perfect burger.
- Don’t be afraid to use other spices on your burger. Salt is the most important one. It is pretty hard to over-salt a burger, so don’t be too shy with the salt.
- It is very important that you do not play with the burgers. Just let them cook! The salt helps to add a nice crust to the burger, even though it may look black or charred. It is not burnt, it is just crispy!
