How to Make Taco Pizza
- Preheat the oven to 400°F, and grease a large baking pan. Roll out the pizza dough into the pan, making sure it reaches the edges, then bake for 8 minutes.
- While baking the crust, set the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat. Brown, drain the grease, then add the water and taco seasoning ingredients and let simmer until the water is dissolved.
- Add in the refried beans, and stir over the heat until nice and hot.
- Spread salsa on the pizza crust, followed by an even layer of the beef and beans.
- Sprinkle cheese over the top, then add sliced olives.
- Bake for another 8-10 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and browning.
- While it's baking, slice up the green onions and tomatoes. Then remove the pizza from the oven and top with the sliced onions and tomatoes.
- Cut, top with a dollop of sour cream, and serve!
Taco Pizza Homemade Tips
- Refrigerated pizza dough makes this recipe super quick and easy, but you can use homemade, too! You can even use crescent rolls, though the flavor will be more buttery.
- Any of your favorite taco toppings will be delicious on this taco pizza. I like adding sauteed peppers and jalapeno slices, or giving it a fresh twist with radish slices and pickled red onion!
- Change up the flavor profiles by using different salsa! Smokey chipotle salsa will give it a rich savory flavor, or try out a peach or mango salsa for a delightfully sweet twist.
- Reheating this pizza in the toaster oven or air fryer will keep the crust toasty and crisp.
- This is a perfect recipe for using up leftover taco meat!
Taco Pizza Recipes FAQ
Taco pizza is exactly what it sounds like: pizza made with the fillings for tacos! Anything you like on tacos can go on a pizza crust to make a delicious taco pizza. I like mine with taco beef, salsa, cheese, and beans, but they're great with chicken or vegetables too!
When using canned or pre-made dough, it's always a good idea to let the dough come to room temperature before shaping it. This will let the dough soften and become more stretchy, lessening the chance of it tearing while being formed.
