- Rosemary
- Butter

- Light brown sugar
- Garlic powder
- Ground cloves
- Apple cider vinegar
- Dijon mustard
- Worcestershire sauce
How to Cook Ham Steak
- In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, rosemary, and ground cloves.
- Add the butter to a skillet over medium heat. Once melted, add the ham steaks and cook for 3-5 minutes on each side, until browned.
- Spoon half of the glaze over the top of the ham steaks, spreading it evenly across the surface.
- Flip the ham steak, and add glaze to the other side. Cook for 3-5 minutes, or until browned and the glaze has become thick and sticky.
- Serve immediately, and enjoy!

Ham steaks are quick and easy, leaving a lot of time to prepare sides! I like using ham steaks to make miniature Easter or Thanksgiving dinners, so I pair them with mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, fresh rolls and green beans. They're also the perfect protein to pair with leftovers for an even faster meal!
On the stove, it takes 10 minutes to cook a ham steak, cooking them roughly 3-5 minutes per side depending on the thickness of the steak. When cooking them in the oven, bake the steaks for 35-45 minutes.
Technically, ham steaks are already fully cooked, and so can be safely eaten right out of the fridge. However, cooking the steaks with glaze will add so much depth of flavor, and will enhance the texture of the steaks.
The secret to keeping ham steaks from getting dry is using plenty of glaze, and making sure to remove them from the heat as soon as they're fully warmed. If you're cooking them longer, such as in the oven, make sure the steaks are completely submerged in liquid so they don't run the risk of drying out.
How to Cook Ham Steak in the Oven
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Mix the glaze, then pour it in a small baking dish, large enough for the ham steaks without much more room. Add the ham steaks and brush the tops with glaze.
- Add enough extra liquid so that the steaks are completely covered. Water or broth works well.
- Bake for 35-45 minutes, until the steaks are tender and the glaze thick and sticky.
- Serve!

- 1 teaspoon Rosemary chopped
- 1 Tablespoon Butter

- ¼ cup Light brown sugar packed
- ½ teaspoon Garlic powder
- ⅛ teaspoon Ground cloves
- 1 teaspoon Apple cider vinegar
