Flatbread Pizza Recipe
Rare is the day I make pulled pork without stocking up on flatbread first! I love all the pulled pork meals out there, but there's nothing like flatbread pizza. And of all the flatbread toppings out there, pulled pork might be the best one yet!
Trust me, you'll be amazed, too! Chewy flatbread pairs incredibly with soft, tender pulled pork and gooey melted cheese, and the sweet and spicy pork is complimented by fresh cilantro and creamy dressings. Oh, and it's all done in 15 minutes!
Low on flatbread? Don't worry! This recipe also works great on naan, and in a pinch, you could even make it on ciabatta or a quick skillet crust made with self-rising flour and yogurt. There are so many ways to enjoy pulled pork leftovers!
Pizza Flatbread Ingredients

How to Make Flatbread Pizza
- Preheat the oven to 375°F, and place the flatbread on a baking sheet with half of the shredded cheese sprinkled evenly on top.
- Top the flatbread with one cup of the pulled pork, then sprinkle on the garlic powder. Add the rest of the pulled pork, spread evenly, then the red pepper flakes.
- Sprinkle the remaining shredded cheese on top. Bake for 15 minutes, or until the flatbread is browned and crispy and the cheese has melted.
- Remove from the oven and top with sea salt, then ribbons of dressing to taste. Finish with fresh cilantro and a fried egg, and serve!
Pulled Pork Pizza Tips
- Flatbread pizza is all about customizing it to be just what you want! Add any toppings you desire, like chopped green onions, sesame seeds, or tomato.
- The cheese is completely up to your taste. I find that mild cheddar or mozzarella pair well with the more flavorful pulled pork.
- Personally I love buffalo ranch dressing, but any creamy dressing will work well! Plain ranch or even Caesar salad dressing are delicious, too.
- No flatbread, no problem! Try this recipe using naan, or you could even eat it on pita by baking it for slightly less time. It would be delicious on ciabatta or baguette, too!
What is a flatbread pizza?
Flatbread pizza is exactly what it says it is- pizza toppings baked on flatbread! By using flatbread as a crust, flatbread pizza tends to take less time to make and often has a crunchier, crispier crust than traditional pizza.
Easy Flatbread Recipe FAQs
Pulled pork is naturally juicy and savory, and tends to be prepared with a sweet and spicy sauce like teriyaki or BBQ. Because of that, I like to add creamy toppings like dressings, coleslaw, and cheese, all of which mellow out the spice well.
While very similar, flatbread pizza and thin crust pizza are not quite the same! Flatbread serves the same purpose as thin crust, but it isn't made with pizza dough, and thus has a slightly different flavor and texture. However, it will still crisp up the same as thin crust!
