Sauces for Rib Roast
Creamy sauces are good, but there's nothing like a savory reduction! These sauces are thin and sink into the meat, flavoring it without smothering it, and their savory flavors are perfect for enhancing the natural flavor of the beef.
Prime Rib Sauce Recipes Tips
- Most sauces are quick and easy to make, but few do well when they sit out too long! Always make your sauces while the prime rib is cooking to ensure it's ready right on time.
- Each sauce will pair well with different sides! Take into account what sides you're serving, and choose a sauce that will go well with everything.
- Prime ribs are hefty cuts of meat! Make sure to make plenty of sauce so there's enough to go around. Extra can always be stored in the fridge for leftovers!
- Don't pour out the drippings! Once the prime rib is cooked, save the drippings for Au Jus, a wine reduction, or a delicious beef gravy or broth for later!
Sauces for Prime Rib FAQ
The classic sauce to serve with prime rib is creamy horseradish sauce. This decadent and flavorful sauce uses fresh horseradish to make for a zingy, fiery sauce sure to get your mouth watering!
While prime rib is naturally rich just due to the cut of meat itself, the best ways to boost the flavor are with rubs and sauces! Try adding a decadent butter rub before cooking prime rib, then top it off with a savory sauce like au jus, horseradish, or wine reduction.
