    Meatloaf in the Air Fryer

My air fryer is one of my best friends in the kitchen. It is amazing being able to easily cook my family's favorite dinners in half the time it would take to make them in the oven!

One of my favorite air fryer recipes with beef is my Air Fryer Meatloaf. This is the best meatloaf in the air fryer I have ever tried, and honestly, one of the best meatloaf recipes hands down.

It is super easy to customize this air-fried meatloaf recipe just how you like it, making for a versatile dinner your family will love. Give it a try as-is or try it with my best meatloaf seasoning recipe, and I guarantee you will want to air fry meatloaf every time!

This recipe was so easy and fun to make. It was absolutely delicious.

    Air Fryer Meatloaf Recipe Ingredients

    • ground beef
    • herb-seasoned stuffing mix
    • eggs
    • ketchup, or tomato sauce
    • garlic powder
    • paprika
    • dried oregano
    • water
    • cooking spray

I use a special blend of seasonings and stuffing mix for my air fryer meatloaf. However, you can customize the meatloaf to be more like your favorite homemade meatloaf if you prefer.

Keep the size to 1 pound of beef and at least 6 ounces of breading filler (such as the stuffing mix used in this recipe) to ensure your loaf will be the correct size for an air fryer.

A great choice for an alternative to this meatloaf recipe is to use my keto meatloaf recipe, complete with its own keto glaze and seasoning. My Italian meatloaf recipe is also a crowd-pleaser!

    7. Allow the meatloaf to rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy!

    Air Fry Meatloaf Tips

    • Aluminum foil is easy to wrap around the loaves, but you may also be able to use mini loaf pans (disposable or reusable) if you have them available.
    • Be careful not to over-mix the meat mixture. Mix until just combined.
    • Don't skip preheating the air fryer before adding the loaves to cook. This is an important step to the meatloaf cooking properly.
    • Just like ovens, air fryers can vary. Check the meatloaf before the 30 minutes is up using a meat thermometer to ensure it does not overcook. Check at the 15 minute mark, and continue cooking as necessary.
    • Don't skip out on resting the meatloaf after cooking it. Let it rest or it will fall apart when you try to slice it.
    • You can prepare extra of the ketchup and spice mixture to glaze the top of the meatloaf before they finish cooking if desired. Simply mix ketchup and the spices in a small bowl and brush over the meatloaves 5-10 minutes before the 30 minutes is up.

    Air Fry Meatloaf FAQs

How long does meatloaf take in air fryer?

It will take only about 25 minutes to air fry meatloaf to a proper internal temperature of 165°F. After cooking, the meatloaf should rest for at least 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

What temperature do I cook meatloaf on?

First, preheat the air fryer to 375°F. Then air fry meatloaf for 25 minutes at this temperature for best results. The internal temperature should reach 165°F as read by an instant-read meat thermometer.

Meatloaf in Air Fryer Recipe Variations

    • Keto meatloaf recipe: Try making this air fryer meatloaf using my low-carb meatloaf recipe.
    • Add bacon: For you bacon lovers, air fryer meatloaf is a great recipe to add bacon to. Rest some strips over the top of the meatloaf, or wrap the entire loaf while securing it with aluminum foil, to cook the bacon with the loaf.
    • Add cheese: A cheesy crust on meatloaf is truly delicious. Add some shredded cheese to the top for a cheesy meatloaf.
    • Add veggies: Air fryer meatloaf is great with veggies added. Try adding minced onion, bell pepper, and fresh garlic if desired. If you find the onion too strong, try sauteing it first, or use caramelized onions.
    • Make an amazing stuffed cheesy meatloaf by following the directions to my Italian Meatloaf.

    How to Store Meatloaf

Store leftover meatloaf in a shallow, airtight container, or wrapped tightly in aluminum foil or plastic wrap. Leftover meatloaf lasts 3-4 days in the refrigerator when properly stored.

    How to Freeze Meatloaf

    Freezing cooked meatloaf

    1. Freeze the meatloaf by allowing it to cool completely, then slice into individual portions. You can freeze the whole loaf, but freezing individual portions is easier to handle when reheating and less likely to dry out.
    2. Wrap each portion in plastic wrap or aluminum foil, then place in a freezer-safe plastic bag. Label with the freezing date and freeze for up to 3 months.
    3. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight and reheat in a preheated air fryer at 375°F for about 10 minutes or until heated completely through.
