How to Make Egg Rolls in the Air Fryer
- In a saucepan over medium-high, add oil. Add bell pepper and onions. Sauté for 3 to 5 minutes until softened.
- Add in minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, steak, salt, and pepper. Sauté and cook until your meat is browned. Drain juice to create an au jus. Set aside.
- Lay out the egg roll wrapper in the shape of a diamond. Place 2 to 3 spoonfuls of meat in the center of the wrapper. Add 2 tablespoons of your shredded cheese.
- Lightly wet the edge of the wrapper with water. I like using a sponge brush. Makes it super-efficient! Fold left and right corners into the center.
- Then, fold the bottom corner and roll the egg rolls shut, squeezing the air out as you roll. Lightly wet the exposed corner to seal it down.
- Spray the air fryer basket with olive oil cooking spray and place the egg rolls in the basket. Brush rolls with oil.
- Cook for 8 minutes at 380°F, flipping halfway. Cook until egg rolls are crispy and golden brown on all sides. Let cool for 5-10 minutes before you eat.
Baked Cheesesteak Egg Rolls
- Preheat oven to 425°F.
- Place the egg rolls, seam side down, on a baking sheet.
- Lightly brush egg rolls with olive oil.
- Bake for approximately 15 minutes or until egg rolls are crispy.
- Broil them for an extra minute for extra crispy.
Steak Egg Rolls Tips
- In most grocery stores, you can easily find egg roll wrappers in the produce section near bottled salad dressings and sauces.
- Make sure your egg rolls aren't touching in the air fryer - you want them to have enough room to cook evenly.
Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls FAQs
You can easily make air fryer egg rolls ahead of time and store them in the refrigerator for up to 12 hours before air frying them. Place in an airtight container with a damp rag over them. This is so convenient for prepping everything the day before, then air frying when ready to serve.
If you don't want to cook these right away, place uncooked egg rolls onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and place them in the freezer. Transfer to an airtight container and store. You can also store them cooked, but allow them to cool first. Make sure to label it with the date. They will last in the freezer for up to 6 months.
